I really don’t think there is to much to add.  Typhus is treatable and 124 cases (known and confirmed), if spread out over time, the local medical institutions SHOULD be able to handle it. You are talking about a population that mostly has a basic mistrust of government and may hide from treatment, thus spreading it even further.

California cities overrun by rat infestations according to new study

Increase in homeless population along with government restrictions on select pesticides have fueled rat infestations in major cities across California according to a new report.

And here was the L.A. City Council President’s solution back in February – 5 Months ago!

Los Angeles City Council’s president suggests to deploy ‘army of cats’ to deal with rat situation | Fox News – Posted February 17, 2019

Right! As one who has known a number of Politicians, I still haven’t found many that I would let operate an elevator for me.

Please, do not think that I am picking on the homeless populations ANYWHERE. California, on the other hand, having  4 of the top 10 homeless areas IN THE COUNTRY, deserves any bashing caused by the homelessness in that State. California, whose Politicians seem to believe they are better than anyone else, are the root cause of the problems that State is going through now.

From a Public Health consideration, California is a disaster waiting to occur and that is from people a lot smarter than I am and not just my opinion. I cannot help but wonder “What are the Politicians doing, not only in California, but also Seattle, Portland, Denver, Austin and others” that they don’t see what is happening to their Citizens. It has gotten so bad that earlier this year, the following headline appeared:

San Francisco homelessness crisis ‘cruel and inhuman’: UN report – Business Insider – posted February 8, 2019

I mean, can it be any starker than that “Cruel and Inhuman“. Really!

If you’ve ever read any Tom Clancy books, you know his descriptions of how the Politicians in RUSSIA lived under Communism and how they had little contact with the Russian People. Special homes, special stores, cars with drivers, traffic lanes reserved only for them and so on – they actually feared the “Common” people. Sounds awfully familiar to me.

How can ANYONE/ ANY POLITICIAN allow their citizens to live, suffer and die in the squalor of what is going on in these Cities? I mean, this is Dark Ages stuff – Edgar Allen Poe – Masque of the Red Death stuff –

masque1

And YET, they want to tell the rest of US, in other parts of the Country, on how we have to live to meet THEIR expectations. Nope, not going to happen.

So, let’s look at what is going on in California

What is Piracy?

Merriam-Webster Logo

pi·ra·cy | \ ˈpī-rə-sē \
plural piracies

Definition of piracy

1: an act of robbery on the high seasalso : an act resembling such robbery
2: robbery on the high seas
3a: the unauthorized use of another’s production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright
b: the illicit accessing of broadcast signals

Legal Definition of piracy

1: an act of robbery especially on the high seas specifically : an illegal act of violence, detention, or plunder committed for private ends by crew or passengers of a private ship or aircraft against another ship or aircraft on the high seas or in a place outside the jurisdiction of any state — see also air piracy
2a: the unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of another’s production (as a film) especially in infringement of a copyright software piracy
b: the unauthorized use, interception, or receipt of encoded communications (as satellite cable programming) especially to avoid paying fees for use the statute’s purpose is to proscribe the piracy of programming signalsUnited States v. Harrell, 983 F.2d 36 (1993)
3: the crime of committing piracy

At the least, we have an “Act of Piracy” committed by a Country (Iran) against Great Btitain – a long-time Friend of the United States. WORST CASE – “An Act of War”.  Great Britain may not be as powerful as it once was, but I think they could do some serious damage to Iran.

These actions will further isolate Iran from the World and, instead of getting “Sanctions Relief”, as they desperately want, these actions will probably see even more sanctions be placed on Iran. The current government has a good chance of failing and another “Iranian Revolution” occurring.

If the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” (which is different than the Iranian Military) did this on their own, then the Islamic Government of Iran should do something very quickly to appease the various Countries involved in this whole mess, or there will be a lot of bloodshed.

Stay tuned

And This Is What Is Important to Them – Gendered language like ‘manhole’ will soon be banned from Berkeley’s city codes – CNN

I’ve been following the growing homeless crisis in California for quite some time now and have watched it get worse and worse.  When you see an article titled “Growing Stretch Of Homeless Camps In Silicon Valley Visible from Space” it makes you pretty sure that there is a problem.

Today, this article appeared on CNN – “Gendered language like “Manhole” will be banned from Berkely City Codes”. And this is what is important to them?

Thousands of people throughout California (and the whole West Coast) are living on the Streets and they are one step away from an Infectious Disease nightmare and they are worried about “Gendered Language”.

And, to me,  THE Main Question is:

Homelessness is a crisis in some parts of the country. Why are 2020 candidates mostly ignoring it? | The Seattle Times

DR Congo Ebola outbreak now a Public Health Emergency, UN health agency declares | UN News

This Ebola Outbreak has been going on for some time now, but has not been really covered by the “NEWS” except a brief passage or two. Politics is more important then people dying.
