History or a War Grave? Chinese Film-Maker Wants to Raise the Lisbon Maru

One of the reasons I started this blog was my father-in-law and his being taken prisoner by the Japanese in 1942. He spent 3 1/2 years on Ambon Island at the Tan Toey P.O.W. Camp.

His experiences haunted him for much of his life and he would never talk about them except to other P.O.W.’s.  In 1995 he finally put it all down on paper and self – published a book. He also became an advocate for ALL P.O.W.’s.

Ed would say “Leave them alone” if he was still here to read this story.

I would agree with him on this “LEAVE THEM ALONE”
